US Military Veterans Parade Association

The US Military Veterans Parade Association is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with a Veterans Parade on Saturday, November 9th at Noon through the streets of historic San Antonio.  It is an opportunity to honor, recognize and say thank you to all Veterans who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The parade is an annual event that is recognized and attended by local, city, state and national leaders,  military officials, and veterans and civic organizations since November 2000.  This parade is also recognized by the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Celebrating America's Military and is befitting to a city that is known as Military City USA.

Some of the activities scheduled for November 9 include an ROTC competition beginning at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Wreath Presentation Ceremony at Alamo Plaza.  The very patriotic Wreath Presentation Ceremony honors the men and women who are no longer with us but are not forgotten.

The parade, with close to one hundred entries this year, steps off at Noon from Avenue E and Travis and includes VFWs, American Legion, Veterans and Veterans organizations, civilian organizations, classic cars, floats, military and civilian officials.

Since it is our 20th Anniversary the USMVPA decided to add a Veterans Festival at the end of the parade route at Milam Park, 500 W. Commerce Street and gives the public an opportunity to mingle with Veterans and their families.  Entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, food truck vendors, city mascots, and face painting are available.  The entrance is free to the public.

Please join us and line the streets with your red, white and blue and say thank you to the Veterans on parade.
